Life After Picking
These flowers were picked and kept out of water in a loose arrangement and painted within the duration of becoming completely wilted. The concept of painting dehydrating flowers is to show the brief beauty of flowers just after being brought from nature just before they die. The paintings have drips and splatters to express the idea of the color leaking from them. One of the paintings is of flowers completely dried and hanging on the wall. It is done on two panels and almost looks like a reflection of itself. This series is a metaphor to show that the life after being death is beautiful.
