A rainbow is a sign of God’s covenant with all living creatures to never to destroy the earth with a flood again. In the context of this painting the rainbow spans over the Lowcountry marshes of South Carolina. This is a rich ecosystem that is vulnerable to climate change and residential development. I wanted the beauty of this painting to encourage people to protect this beautiful land the Lord has offered us.
